Insights into the world of start-ups
The topics covered at the start-up round table are diverse. They range from sales and start-ups in science to dealing with failure. Experts from a wide range of disciplines and industries are on hand to share their knowledge.
Last year, successful founders from the University of Bonn enriched the discussion, such as Pacua Theus from the start-up Identeco, who spoke about cybersecurity. Dr. Marcel Hövels from Sweethoven Biotech was also there to talk about his healthy sugar alternative. He used to attend the start-up roundtable as an interested party and now shares his experiences from a founder's perspective. “The start-up stories from the University of Bonn are very inspiring because they show what can be achieved, especially in science,” says Marcus Wille, start-up advisor at the Transfer Center enaCom and co-organizer of the regulars' table.
Solving problems together
Some sessions focus primarily on the participants and their projects. At the April Roundtable, they were able to give trial pitches and receive feedback from the audience. In November, participants presented their own challenges and worked together with the collective intelligence of the group to find solutions.
To ensure plenty of networking opportunities, speed dating sessions are also part of the format, enabling everyone to get to know each other quickly. These formats help participants support one another and move their projects forward.
Contacts and networks
The Start-up Roundtable offers a relaxed atmosphere for participants to share experiences. Start-up experts from the Transfer Center, the H-BRS Start-up Factory, and the Digitalhub are also available to answer questions. Time and again, this leads to new contacts and fruitful collaborations.
“Even inexperienced participants can benefit from the exciting insights into the world of entrepreneurship and take their first steps. They are always welcome to come and check it out. Our ‘Gründer Grillen’ (start-up barbecue) in summer and the ‘X-MAS Special’ in winter are also particularly popular,” explains Marcus Wille.
