Political Science

The master's degree program Political Science reflects the focus of Bonn’s political science academics on the political interdependencies between German, European and, ultimately, global politics. The program is built on the University’s research tradition, which combines the perspectives of contemporary history, the history of political thought and institutional research with a practice-related analysis of real-world political processes.

The degree program is designed to convey to students in-depth knowledge of the domestic and foreign policy of Germany and other countries of the West (Europe, North America) and Asia, addressing European integration along with the political thought and real-world elements underlying it and the theory and policies driving it. In addition, the degree program gives students thorough insight into political practice, including an internship during which they can practically apply acquired academic competences.

For holders of a degree in political science or a degree with a political science focus, this degree program represents an opportunity to acquire formidable interdisciplinary and practice-related qualifications for work in or related to policy-making.
