Senate and University Council pass resolution on interim space on Hofgarten campus

Members of the Senate and University Council of the University of Bonn have passed a resolution expressing their broad support for the Rectorate's plans to build sustainable interim spaces on part of the Hofgarten during the ten-year renovation period of the main building. This is intended to create urgently needed alternative space for the lecture halls and auditorium that will be eliminated.

According to the resolution, the University's plan is to "preserve university life at the founding and central identification site of the University of Bonn, which is rich in tradition, internationally renowned and over 200 years old, and thus also contribute to preserving Bonn's city center as a lively and safe place." At the same time, the quality of stay in the Hofgarten area should continue to be preserved, it said. "'University in the Hofgarten' is of great importance for the future development of the University of Excellence Bonn," the resolution emphasizes. Therefore, the two University bodies call on the City of Bonn to support the goals of the University.
