Which wall will your research break? Witness young researchers pitch innovative ideas in 3 minutes in a live streaming event! Participants, the so-called 'Labsters', are given the opportunity to participate in a pitch competition and present their research, business model, or initiative to peers, a high-calibre jury of experts from academia and business, and the general public. Falling Walls Lab is an international forum for the next generation of early-career innovators, trailblazers, creators, and visionaries. Its aim is to promote exceptional ideas and connect promising scientists and entrepreneurs from all fields on a global level. Selected participants are given the opportunity to participate in a pitch competition and present their work to peers, a high-calibre jury of experts from academia as well as business, and the general public, competing to win a trip to the global Falling Walls Lab Finale in Berlin, Germany on 8 November 2021.

How to Turn Your Idea into a Promising Business Model - A Guide for the Next Steps Topic: Do you have a business idea and want to challenge it? In this workshop you will not only learn how to evaluate business ideas, but also how to develop a sustainable business model. We will introduce you to helpful tools to validate the hypotheses on which your business idea is based. We then highlight all aspects of a technology and knowledge-based business model and create a first draft concept. We will discuss what the next steps can be, where you can get support to continue working and what funding might be available.
Have you ever wondered whether a business idea can be derived from your research work or invention? Let's take a look together. We have created a tool to help you find out exactly that. Together we will develop problem and solution hypotheses and outline validation steps. This will help us build the foundation of a promising business idea. In this workshop, you will also learn how to evaluate business ideas, who will support you in developing your technology and knowledge-based idea into a business model, and what funding might be available.
At the Hanover Fair, the Transfer Center enaCom will present the activities in knowledge and technology transfer at the University of Bonn. Participating start-up teams from Bonn are aimed analytics, ClingTechBionics and Midel Photonics. The Hanover Fair is a meeting place for industry members of international importance.

At the "Night of Technology" in Cologne, the Transfer Center enaCom presents selected examples of knowledge transfer into society. It represents the University of Bonn with a "Station at the Expo", where interested parties get insights about science and engineering studies in the disciplines represented, as well as the University of Bonn in general. Researchers from the fields of geodesy and physics present their experiments to the public with an engaging part.

In 5 days on the way to your own business: This is the Start-up Summer School from the Transfer Center enaCom of the University of Bonn. Here you will get all the information about start-ups and the most important tools to develop your own business concepts. And you can apply this new knowledge directly: Together with start-up consultants and other participants, you will develop your own ideas and work them out. With our method case you are well prepared for the first steps towards your own start-up. You do not need to have your own start-up idea to participate!
