Networking isn't about knowing as many people as possible and adding them on LinkedIn (if you already have an account). It's about developing insight into your own goals and motivations, and about the ability to find supporters to achieve them. And, of course, your willingness to share the knowledge and contacts you already have with others.

Description

This workshop will help you to analyse your own goals and your network. It will provide techniques for strategically expanding and maintaining your network, including a look at social media and networks and the opportunities they offer. We will also take a closer look at communication, especially at small talk: What is small talk? How to do it? And: What might be the obstacles on the way to becoming a "good" small talker?

The workshop combines theoretical input with practical exercises. You will have space to interact with other participants, share your own experiences and apply the different techniques in numerous exercises.

The participants

will analyze their existing network and define aims.
will develop strategies for enlarging and maintaining their network according to their aims.
will improve strategies and communication skills to get and stay in touch with persons they meet.
