Description
Python has become a standard in both academic research and industry, making it an essential tool for a wide range of applications. In this workshop, you will understand key programming concepts, learn to navigate Python's syntax, and develop the skills needed to write your own simple programs.
As part of the workshop, we will also explore how tools powered by artificial intelligence (AI) can assist with coding. This includes using AI to improve productivity, troubleshoot code, and generate ideas, giving you a practical introduction to how AI can enhance your programming experience.
To fully benefit from the workshop, please bring a laptop (along with a charger) and ensure that your internet connection is working on campus (e.g., using eduroam). Alternatively, you may use a tablet with a keyboard.
Whether you are completely new to programming or have some experience with Python or another language, I’m looking forward to having you in the workshop!

Creditable for the Micro Credential 'AI & Digital Skills'
Micro Credentials for doctoral students offer the opportunity to systematically add key future skills to your professional expertise. You can apply for a Micro Credential if you successfully complete at least four workshops from one area of expertise.
Feedback from Participants
"The structure of the course was great! With not much programming background I really learned a lot, which has not been usually the case with other similar courses for me!" (Participant 2025)
