We the Cimarróns - Film Screening, Director's Talk, Reception

Join the screening of We the Cimarróns on Thursday, 30 June 2022, at 20:00 CET by award winning director and BCDSS fellow Emma Christopher. This is the second film in our dependency-related film series cooperation "Who's Got the Power" with Förderverein Filmkultur Bonn. At the post-screening talk, we will get a chance to listen to Emma, the director/producer, as well as Garciano and Efrén, two Yurumanguireño leaders featured in the film. They will provide us with an insight into the making of the film and give us a very personal account of the threats that the Yurumangui community, descendents of enslaved people from West Africa, is facing today. Everyone is welcome to join the subsequent reception at the cinema foyer for some further talks and networking.
