The Research Institute for Discrete Mathematics is a central scientific unit of the University of Bonn and part of the Cluster of Excellence "Hausdorff Center for Mathematics". lt combines theoretical research in algorithmic discrete mathematics with applications of combinatorial optimization to industrial practice (in the areas of chip design and tour planning). lt is committed to equal opportunity and the support of early-career researchers. We are looking for candidates with a research focus on combinatorial optimization or adjacent areas in algorithmic discrete mathematics, and with publications in first-class journals and conferences. Besides research and teaching in discrete mathematics, willingness to contribute to industry cooperations of the research institute is expected. German language skills are not required in the beginning. The professor will normally become a member of the Hausdorff Center for Mathematics and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.
For this tenured full professor position we seek an internationally outstanding scientist.
