Description

Research management is a growing and increasingly recognized professional field that
plays a crucial role in today’s academic landscape. It offers an exciting and diverse range
of career opportunities, particularly for doctoral graduates and postdocs who are
interested in working at the intersection of research, policy, and administration.

Together, we will explore key questions such as:

  • What exactly does a research manager do?
  • What kinds of roles and responsibilities exist within the field?
  • What skills and qualifications are employers looking for?
  • How can your academic background and experience prepare you for a successful
    transition into research management?

Through a combination of input, discussion, and interactive elements, participants will
gain a clearer understanding of the professional landscape, reflect on their own
competencies and motivations, and identify possible entry points into this field. The
workshop also offers space to exchange experiences and questions with others who are
exploring similar career paths.
