How to avoid war - diplomacy in a multipolar world

— Kategorie: ,
Referent/in: Elmar Brok, Julianne Smith, Tacan Ildem, David Kramer, Karl-Heinz Kamp

Regional conflicts, nuclear threats, populism and autocracy – the liberal world order is unraveling. The long-lasting transatlantic dominance might have come to an end and other powers are emerging to fill the created power vacuum. Dialogue, negotiations and other measures are needed more than ever to better deal with growing uncertainty. Can diplomacy be the tool to restrain power and prevent crisis in times of disarray?

Elmar Brok (member of the European parliament) will give a keynote speech followed by a panel discussion with Elmar Brok, Ambassador Tacan Ildem (Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy, NATO), David Kramer (Senior Fellow at Florida International University’s Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs) and Julianne Smith (Adjunct Senior Fellow at the Center for a New American Security). The Panel will be moderated by Karl-Heinz Kamp (President of the Federal Academy for Security Policy).

Admission to this event is free. Registration is required.
