Living and studying in a foreign country makes for an exciting yet challenging cultural and linguistic experience for Erasmus students.

In order to help you to transition smoothly into your new environment, the International Office offers an exclusive orientation programme for Erasmus students at the beginning of each semester.

We highly recommend that you take part in this Welcome Week (October/April) as we will provide important information on studying and living in Bonn. Students will also receive assistance with the official University of Bonn enrolment process (matriculation process) during one of our many events.

In light of current events, the Welcome Week in April 2020 has been cancelled.

What is offered during the Welcome Week?

  • Welcome Package on arrival day with comprehensive information including information about the university, the city of Bonn as well as the Eramus-guide, bus/train timetables and more!
  • Informational meeting that highlights the most important formalities and general information on life in Germany / Bonn
  • Exclusive Erasmus student lunch
  • Validation of health insurance, enrolment at the University of Bonn & support in registration with the city of Bonn
  • Meet your Erasmus departmental coordinator and participate in guided tours of the campus
  • Meet and Greet with Erasmus and German students
  • Welcome Party hosted by the Erasmus Student Network (ESN)
