Erasmus+ with non-European countries

In summer term 2020, the University of Bonn will be starting an Erasmus cooperation with Israeli universities: the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the Tel Aviv University, and the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya.

Are you studying at one of these universities? – Then you are invited to apply for an Erasmus exchange semester in Bonn! If you are interested, please contact the International Office of your university. That institution will select qualified applicants and nominate them for an Erasmus exchange with the University of Bonn.

If you have been selected by your university:

► Please complete this online application form by November 1st at the latest and take note of these instructions.

- Grant: 850 € / month, plus a lump sum of 530 € for travel expenses.
- Please use this form for your Erasmus Learning Agreement. These guidelines explain how to fill in the form.
- As a non-EU-citizen, you usually need a residence permit for studying in Germany. We will be happy to assist you.

Background: Initially, the Erasmus program was designed for European students only. In 2015, Erasmus+ opened up these exchange opportunities to individuals and organizations from other parts of the world (“Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility – KA 107”).
Thus, Erasmus students from Israel benefit from the same status and the same rights as Erasmus students from the usual “program countries”. (Therefore, please note the general information on our web pages concerning the Erasmus program and our Erasmus+ Student Charter.)

You will find useful information in the EU brochure (PDF) as well. In case of further questions do not hesitate to contact our International Office team.
