A Day for International Doctoral and Postdoctoral Researchers on October 20, 2016 at Universitätsforum (Heussallee 18 – 24, Bonn)

The event specifically addresses the interests
and needs of international doctoral and postdoctoral
researchers at the University of Bonn.


The event is organized by Bonn Graduate Center,
the International Office, the Department for
Research Support and the Welcome Center.
The day will offer information on the academic
landscape in Germany as well as on funding
opportunities for research projects beyond the
doctorate
.

 

Programm

Program begins at 2:00 p.m.

  • Welcome by Prof Dr Andreas Zimmer, Prorector for Research and Innovation of the University of Bonn
  • Introduction to the German academic landscape and funding opportunities
  • Round table on academic career perspectives in Germany with prorector Prof Dr Andreas Zimmer, Dr Philip Thelen, German Research Foundation (DFG), Felix Beckendorf, National Contact Point for Marie-Skłodowska-Curie-Funding, Dr Holger Finken, German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and JProf Dr Ngoc Tran, Hausdorff Center for Mathematics.
  • World Café (small discussion groups) on the topics career perspectives with a doctorate, tips for writing a proposal, exchange of experiences and others.
  • Get-together and free dinner reception

Program ends at app. 8:00 p.m.

 

Target Group

International doctoral and postdoctoral researchers who are interested in an academic career in Germany

 

Registration

Prior registration is required by October 14, 2016. 

Please note an early registration is recommended as participation is limited to 80 researchers.
