Gender equality is key at the University of Bonn–and especially so for young scholars. Here you can find links for measures within the framework of the Maria von Linden Program and other university support programs for female junior scholars, as well as information regarding support for male and female doctoral students with children.








Gender Equality Instruments at Bonn University

According to its profile as a research university, the Rectorate and the gender equality coordinator have developed a comprehensive support program for female junior scholars (Maria von Linden-Programm). The primary objective of this program is supporting and motivating female junior scholars to remain in scholarship and research. The University of Bonn has been certified as a family-friendly university since 2011. The comprehensive counseling program for students with children (Studieren mit Kind) from the Family Office is also open to doctoral students. External funding for female doctoral students with children

The Christiane Nüsslein-Volhard-Stiftung awards grants to excellent female doctoral students in the experimental natural sciences if they see their career as a scientist at risk due to the fact that they have to take care of a child/children.
