The numerous externally-funded graduate programs of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences include the majors of mathematics/informatics, physics, biology, pharmacology, and molecular biomedicine. As many as four majors have a permanent Bonn International Graduate School (BIGS).

Bonn International Graduate School of Mathematics (BIGS-M)

Located at the Hausdorff Center for Mathematics, BIGS-M provides an umbrella for all Bonn PhD students in mathematics. Thus, the BIGS-M contributes to the excellent national and international reputation of mathematics at Bonn.

Integrated Research Training Group at the Transregional Collaborative Research Centre "Periods, moduli spaces and arithmetic of algebraic varieties" (SFB/TR 45)

The Integrated Research Training Group optimizes working conditions for doctoral students inside SFB/Transregio 45 in cooperation with local graduate studies. Thematic summer schools will be organized twice a year.

Structured Doctoral Program in Georgia and Armenia (Volkswagen Foundation)

A New docoral program in theoretical and experimental physics will enable doctoral students in Georgia and Armenia to receive highest level of training. In addition to the University of Bonn, the University of Siegen, Forschungszentrum Juelich, Tbilisi State University, the Physicaö Institute Yerevan and the State University of Yerevan are involved in the project.
