We are pleased you are considering a doctorate at the University of Bonn. 

Individual or Structured Doctorate?

The University offers two options: you may pursue individual studies with the support of a doctoral advisor who is an expert in your area of interest, or choose from more than 30 structured programs. Doctoral programs combine our strong academic environment with individual attention from experts in your field – including annual retreats and regular meetings with your thesis committee.

As a doctoral candidate, you will be supported by the Bonn Graduate Center (BGC) and the Argelander Competence Center throughout your time with us.

We take a continuous approach to mentoring, keeping in touch as your interests and needs evolve. Our personal advising assists with every stage of your academic journey. Learn more about consultations.
