THE Ranking: University of Bonn is ranked 105th worldwide

At ninth place, the University of Bonn is once again among the top 10 German universities in the most recent ranking by the British magazine Times Higher Education (THE). Bonn ranks 105th out of the 1,400 educational institutions assessed. Various indicators were collected for the World University Ranking, including research, teaching, knowledge transfer and internationality.

Rector Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Michael Hoch is pleased about the good performance: "In this comparison of the best universities worldwide we could once again improve the position of the University of Bonn. But this is just an intermediate achievement for us. Our clear goal is to firmly establish the University of Bonn among the top 100 universities worldwide and among the top 20 in Europe in this ranking. "

In the current Academic Ranking of World Universities (the so-called "Shanghai Ranking"), the University is ranked 70th worldwide (https://www.uni-bonn.de/neues/200-2019).

The University of Bonn was recently made one of eleven German Universities of Excellence. This along with its six reserch Clusters of Excellence, Bonn is the most successful university in Germany's nationwide Excellence Competition.
