The support measures are aimed at students and University members in research with children of up to twelve years of age. Persons who are currently completing a doctorate or Habilitation, are undergoing evaluation as part of their assistant professorship or require additional childcare due to switching to digital teaching or extended practical courses are eligible to apply via a simple process.

The University of Bonn offers those affected different support options: It provides funds to employ student or research assistants to help those applying with their academic work or teaching.  Lecturers can draw on teaching cover assistance for up to two course units per week.

Childcare services are extended to now offer emergency childcare for employees with a requirement arising at short notice. Where work requires the attendance of events such as further training or lectures, it is also possible to apply for contributions towards childcare expenses instead.  The University of Bonn has also set up funding for material expenses which can be used for e.g. hard and software or literature supporting the balance around university and family life.

An information sheet summarizing details and conditions for the outlined support measures is available via the University intranet. Applications are accepted as of now.
