Bonn Alliance for Sustainability Research Institutions from the region of Bonn form new network

The UN climate change conference COP23 is attended by around 25,000 people. The meeting is under the presidency of the Republic of Fiji. The University of Bonn is represented at the climate summit and presents itself with a booth in the exhibition area "Bonn Zone", where an international consortium, led by the University of Bonn will establish the "Bonn Alliance for Sustainability Research".

The Bonn Alliance for Sustainability Research is formed by the University of Bonn along with other partners. The university is participating with institutes from the Faculties of Agriculture and Mathematics and Natural Sciences as well as with the Center for Development Research ZEF. The other members of the alliance are important players in the Bonn science region: the Institute for Environment and Human Security of the United Nations University ( UNU-EHS), the Bonn International Center for Conversion (BICC), the German Development Institute (DIE) and the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences.

On Wednesday, November 15 at 1:30pm, the signing of the agreement will take place at the University's information booth in the Bonn Zone.

The signers are:

• Prof. Dr. Jakob Rhyner, Vice-Rector Europe of the UNU and Director of the UNU-EHS

• Michael Dedek, Managing Director of BICC

• Prof. Dr. Conrad Schetter, Director for Research of the BICC

• Prof. Dr. Dirk Messner, Director of DIE

• Prof. Dr. Hartmut Ihne, President of Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg
