The University of Bonn's support program "Refuge-Access-Future" for at-risk researchers offers seminars, consultation and financial support for participating in German classes. It shall facilitate a continuation of research careers that have involuntarily been interrupted due to war or persecution. As we know about the difficulties and challenges of continuing an academic career in Germany, the program shall also reveal alternative career opportunities outside of academia.

The support program consists of two components: a group program and an individual support program. The group program is open to at-risk researchers currently residing in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Our individual support program, however, is exclusively reserved for researchers who have found refuge in Bonn and the region (Rhein-Sieg Kreis, Kreis Ahrweiler) and for at-risk researchers who work at the University of Bonn.

We are currently planning the next round of the support program which will be announced on this website.
