Lecture Series on job perspectives in Ancient American Studies and Anthropology

Since the summer semester of 2014 the department of Ancient American Studies and Anthropology offers a lecture series on job perspectives in the field of Ancient American Studies and Anthropology. Since 2017 the lectures take place every other week during the winter semester.
This lecture series aims to introduce students to professional practice by giving them in insight to possible fields of work that are related to Ancient American and anthropological research. The lectures are held by graduates who reflect on their professional development in order to show job perspectives for graduates of Ancient American Studies and ethnologists. They introduce students to organizational matters and methods of working in selected professional fields (museums, development organizations, media and publishing, ethnological and archaeological research projects, tourism, science- and cultural management, etc.).
The lecture series is mandatory for Bachelor students of Ancient American Studies and Anthropology (dual subject) and for Master students of Anthropology of the Americas in the internship modules „Internes/Externes Praktikum“ (B.A.) und „Internship A/B“ (M.A.).
Other than that, it is generally open to all interested members of the University of Bonn. The participation in the lectures is free. A registration is only necessary for students of Ancient American Studies, who want to receive ECTS for their participation. For everyone else a registration is not necessary.
The schedule for the winter semester of 2018/2019 can be found here.
