Science Startups and Networking

One-day workshop offered by the Bonn Graduate Center on September 11, 2019, 9.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m., Alte Sternwarte, Poppelsdorfer Allee 47, Room Pegasus (0.003).

Are you curious to learn about start-ups and networks in the Bonn-region? With this workshop we will present you obstacles, the most important facts on planning a start-up as well as ways to utilize an agile network in the eco system of start-ups and other companies in the region. The following questions will be discussed:

  • Why having a start-up at all?
  • Starting with a rather general idea: How would we define a promising start-up plan?
  • Will I get advisory services without an idea, but the willingness to found a start-up with others?
  • How would a start-up be possibly set up?
  • Is there any third party funding before establishing a company available or possible?
  • Do we focus on any special businesses, markets or attitudes?
  • What do I have to learn in order to be successful? Are there guarantees given?
  • What will the role of the university be in that process?
  • Are there any regional networks in our eco system that can be used throughout the process?
  • Do we have any best-practice start-ups / spin-offs in the university’s cloud?
  • Is there any Co-Working and space for teaming up with other scientists or young entrepreneurs?
  • What about patents or copyrights?
