The candidate is to represent periodontology within research and teaching. He/she is scientifically recognized and has demonstrated outstanding achievements, including high-ranking publications, in the specialist areas of the professorship, and his/her proven clinical expertise enables a close affiliation with the scientific, clinical, and care-related structures of the site. The professorship is assigned to the Department of Operative Dentistry and Periodontology and includes duties as a senior physician. The duties of the advertised position include maintaining and expanding the interdisciplinary scientific structure. It is expected that the successful candidate will establish and apply for a collaborative project for university dentistry with an interdisciplinary orientation and a thematically focused research program.
Close networking with the key areas of research within the departments of the Center for Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine, University Hospital Bonn, and other faculties of the University of Bonn is desired. Particular importance is given to translational approaches as well as the use of resective and regenerative periodontal surgical procedures. Scientific excellence should be demonstrated through appropriate high-quality publications and the acquisition of third-party funding. Active involvement in university committees and self-governance tasks, as well as a pronounced level of motivation, flexibility, and the ability to work collaboratively and in a team are expected.
The successful candidate must have completed a university degree in dentistry, have a habilitation or evidence of equivalent academic achievements, and extensive teaching experience in accordance with section 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz NRW).
