The focus of the professorship lies at the clinical, scientific, and legal intersections of neuroradiology and epileptology. The working areas involved, proven through relevant publications, are image-based clinically integrated research into epilepsy with a focus on the use of new MR systems (particularly ultra-high-field and ultra-low-field MRI), research on multicenter image data, and the development of innovative and data protection-compliant concepts for the multicenter usability of medical image data.

The professorship is based at the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology and Pediatric Neuroradiology. The professorship should also be linked to the management of the Center for Medical Data Usability and Translation (Zentrum für Medizinische Datennutzbarkeit und Translation, ZMDT). 

The future job holder (m/f/d) should be proven within the working areas listed above through excellent academic achievements, successfully obtained third-party funding, and didactic experience. We are looking for a research-oriented, internationally well-connected, and integrative personality with key management and communication skills. Experience in establishing and managing a working group at the intersection of highly innovative clinical research, translation, and transfer is required. Previous experience in the research and teaching of data-processing law is desirable. 

The successful candidate must have completed a university degree in medicine and have a habilitation or evidence of equivalent academic achievements. They must also have completed training as a medical specialist in radiology with further training specializing in neuroradiology or have completed training as a medical specialist in neurology. Experience in teaching in accordance with section 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz NRW) is preferable.
