We seek an excellent early-career scientist with a strong track record in the field of immunology, with a focus on female immunity. The field of study may comprise the entire spectrum of specific scientific questions con-cerning the female immune system.
This position has been established through the program “Gender-Denominationen” of the state of North-Rhine Westphalia to foster research on important topics of females and is integrated within the DFG-funded Cluster of Excellence ImmunoSensation. The professorship will strengthen the collaboration between the University Hospital Bonn (UKB) and the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE), which will host the professorship for 6 years. The professorship will have direct access to systems medicine approaches rang-ing from single cell techniques to large human cohort studies and including multi-model omics technologies, as well as to state-of-the-art high-dimensional statistics, bioinformatics, machine learning and AI applications. Experience in a number of these technologies is expected. Collaborations within the Cluster of Excellence ImmunoSensation and with other intra- and extramural research institutions are expected.
Teaching activities in English will include the master’s programs “Immunosciences and Infection“ “Immuno-biology” and “Molecular Cell Biology“.
A PhD or equivalent degree in a subject relevant to the position is required.
