Project completion: Health information on the Internet "Gesucht: Verlässliche Gesundheitsinfos im Internet"

Just ask "Dr. Google"? For many consumers, the Internet is the first port of call for questions about health. The skills that are helpful when dealing with online health information and how competencies can be strengthened are currently the subject of much discussion and research. In the project "Orientation aids in dealing with online health information" (OriGes), the websites www.gesund-im-netz.net for adults and www.klick2health.net for adolescents were further developed as orientation aids for dealing with online health information from 2020 to 2022. To mark the successful conclusion of the project, we cordially invite you to our public closing event. We look forward to presenting the results to you and discussing them with you. To sharpen and further develop its scientific profile, the university has established six transdisciplinary research areas (TRAs). As novel innovation-promoting organizational structures, the TRAs direct university research toward central scientific, technological, and societal issues of the future. They serve as creative and explorative platforms.


The support of scientists at all career stages is one of the highest priorities of the Excellence University of Bonn. In this context, the Argelander Tenure Track Professorship Program is specifically dedicated to supporting excellent junior researchers and enabling them to develop their own independent research at the interface between the disciplines.

to be filled as soon as possible within the Transdisciplinary Research Area “Individuals, Institutions and Societies” (TRA Individuals and Societies) of the University of Bonn ́s excellence initiative.

Call for proposals for the development of the profile area 'Ethics'

To sharpen and further develop its scientific profile, the university has established transdisciplinary research areas (TRAs). As novel, innovation-promoting organizational structures, the TRAs direct university research toward central scientific, technological, and societal issues of the future. They serve as creative and exploratory platforms on which subjects and faculties connect in a topic-oriented manner and coordinate their strategic development.

Within TRA 4 - Individuals, Institutions and Societies, researchers investigate how institutions (market, law, culture) condition complex relationships between
(market, law, culture) determine complex relationships between individuals and societies, and develop new perspectives on micro-phenomena (personality development, competencies, individualization) and macro-phenomena (world society, globalization). The aim is, for example, to identify key factors that influence social cohesion, equality of opportunity, efficiency, resource protection, and the development of individual capabilities in the interplay of all these factors.

In this context, the already identified profile area 'Ethics' as well as its research infrastructure shall be further developed and expanded. TRA 4 therefore invites applications for this
Therefore, TRA 4 invites applications for research funds with a total amount of 50.000,- EUR for this profile area in order to stimulate further networking within TRA as well as projects for the interdisciplinary treatment of ethical research questions.

Call for Application: Forum Humanum Fellowships/Fall Institute ‘A.I. – The Art of Interpretation’

In association with the Udo Keller Stiftung Forum Humanum, the TRA 4 – Individuals, Institutions and Societies (University of Bonn) is offering up to 10 Forum Humanum fellowships to qualified doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers from any department in the social sciences or humanities at the University of Bonn to participate in an event to be held at the recently founded Institute for Philosophy and the New Humanities at the New School for Social Research (NYC).
