DESCRIPTION:This year's Diversity Days at the University of Bonn are title
 d ‘Family Matters: Balance & Belonging’. In cooperation with the Offic
 e of Family Services\, we are taking a look at the intersections of family
  and academia\, especially with regard to women and LGBTQIA* people.\n\nOn
  Monday\, the Diversity Days will open at 4 p.m. with two talks on the top
 ic of queerness and family. Sascha Sistenich will talk about the definitio
 n of family and how queer perspectives can change our understanding of car
 e. He will be followed by Leah Petersen with a talk on dynamics between yo
 ung non-binary people and their parents. The two speakers will then take p
 art in a panel discussion with Birgit Brockerhoff\, Lenny Streit and Eliss
 ar Zanubia El-Marouk on the topic of families of choice. The evening will 
 conclude at 6:30 p.m. with a reading by Dr Sarah Czerney and Dr Lena Ecker
 t on the compatibility of work and children for parents in science.
