DESCRIPTION:Postcolonial perspectives have gained ground during the last d
 ecade\, but have recently been confronted with accusations of antisemitism
 . Examples are the political theorist Achille Mbembe\, the genocide schola
 r Dirk Moses or the art exhibition documenta 15 in Kassel\, Germany. Espec
 ially after the Hamas attack on October 7\, 2023 there have been calls to 
 stop funding postcolonial studies in general. The talk will look at some o
 f these conflicts and shed light on the reasons for these accusations\, al
 so using a theory of hegemony and postcolonial theory to make sense of the
