DESCRIPTION:The new special exhibition in P26 presents new acquisitions an
 d additions from the museums and collections of the University of Bonn. Th
 e ways in which objects find their way into the collections are as diverse
  as the collections themselves. Donations play a major role\, but sometime
 s pose challenges for the museums.\n\nAt the same time\, the exhibition sh
 ows how new technologies\, methods and approaches are helping to re-examin
 e and re-evaluate objects that have been in the university's possession fo
 r some time. Why does a university collect or acquire objects? What functi
 on do they have in everyday research and teaching? How is knowledge create
 d?\nMore than 20 university museums and collections from a wide range of d
 isciplines are participating in the exhibition – from the natural scienc
