DESCRIPTION:Join our conversation about Indigenous textile knowledge from 
 the Tarabuco community in Bolivia and the cultural meanings of weaving bey
 ond technique. Through storytelling\, shared reflections\, and lived exper
 ience\, this event explores weaving as a social\, spiritual\, and politica
 l practice. \nAt the same time\, weaving practices have been shaped by ong
 oing colonial and capitalist structures\, which have commodified textiles 
 and altered the social and cultural relationships embedded in their produc
 tion. \n\nThe event creates space to rethink who benefits from cultural pr
 oduction and how Indigenous weaving continues to negotiate power\, visibil
 ity\, and survival. The conversation is followed by a screening of the sho
 rt film “Awanasunchis (2020/21)” showing impressions of weaving as a l
 iving cultural practice.\n\nThe event is part of the outreach programme fo
 r the exhibition ‘Dressing Resistance: Fashion and the Heritage of Missi
 on’ at the Global Heritage Lab/P26.
