Seminar

Do you know your stressors? How can you manage stress and protect yourself from it? These and other topics are covered in the stress management seminar.

The preventive stress management program "Empowered for your Doctoral Studies" is designed for the specifics of your life and work as a doctoral researcher and is intended to ensure a healthy and productive approach to potential stress factors.

The focus of the five seminar units is on teaching a broad repertoire of stress management strategies (e.g. mental stress management, optimization of time and learning management) and on promoting self-reflection and the exchange of experiences. You will also gain insight into various relaxation techniques, breathing and physical exercises. The dates are designed as four-hour training sessions (including breaks).

The goal of the seminar is to give you guidance in the promotion phase, as well as to integrate the behaviors learned in the training into your everyday life.

Study

In this intervention study, the long-term effect of the stress management program for doctoral researchers will be evaluated for the first time.

In this intervention study, the long-term effect of the stress management program "Empowered for your Doctoral Studies" for doctoral researchers will be evaluated for the first time.

The study comprises an intervention group and a control group and includes three tests for both groups during the course of the study. The measurements consist of answering several psychological questionnaires that are completed from home (duration: approx. 45 min). In addition, a stress level analysis is performed on site (duration: approx. 30 min). The allocation into intervention and control group is randomized. Due to the study design, there will be different seminar periods for the intervention and control groups. The seminar periods are listed further down on this website. The control groups have the possibility to attend the seminar after the end of the study.

Receive an expense allowance of 50,00 € after successful participation in the study.

Further information about the study and the scientific background can be found here.32
