Description

In this workshop you'll learn how to present scientific results to both layman and expert audiences. Whether you are presenting at an international conference or defending your doctoral thesis, whether you’re holding a press conference or just seeking feedback from your workgroup, this workshop will teach you how to speak with clarity, have a compelling storyline, and design useful slides. It’s hands on and all practial exercises will be on your own presentation.

Two weeks after the workshop, you’ll get an individual coaching session that helps you put the methods into action. During this session, you’ll get an opportunity to ask anything that has come up after the workshop about how to present your individual topic and you can get professional feedback on how to improve your presentation.

To avoid disappointment: this workshop is not about body language but about content and how to make it as compelling as possible.

Content

  • How to put it in a nutshell and bring across your key messages
  • How to grab and hold your audience’s attention
  • How to explain complex stuff in simple words – without being simplistic
  • How to make better slides and visualizations
  • How to make the audience get it
  • How to make the audience care for your results
