Course Description
On day one you will learn how to pitch your research in a simple yet appealing way in just a few minutes. This is not only beneficial for future (poster) pitches, it is also a great way to share your knowledge in an understandable manner to a lay audience and to position yourself as an expert. At day two you will get a better understanding of how science communication works in the media. You will learn how science journalists operate and portray science stories.
You will be recording a video pitch on day one, so it is advised to take any useful recording equipment with you. For instance a placeholder for your mobile phone, a good microphone and something from your research to show on camera. If you don't have any fancy equipment, don't worry, a simple webcam and microphone on your computer and laptop will do the trick as well.
