Description

Do you use Python in your scientific work? Do you run Python code on HPC clusters, or simply on your laptop?

This course will teach you some of the Python-related topics beyond the absolute basics of the language - things you will likely run into as a scientist using Python.

Since this course is being held only for the second time, the list of topics is potentially subject to major changes.

Registration happens via eCampus. The course may be held more than once, depending on presenter availability and number of registrations. It will be held over two consecutive half-days.

IMPORTANT: after registering, you MUST JOIN ONE OF THE GROUPS.

  • Overview of common frameworks: Numpy, Scipy, Pandas, Pytorch, Tensorflow
  • What everyone should know about Python performance
  • Pip and Conda basics
  • Using pip and Conda on HPC clusters
  • Using GPUs and other system resources
  • Parallel computing with Python
