Description
The success of events and meetings is based to a large extent on successful communication by all those involved, especially in scientific contexts. Whether it’s a team meeting, committee meeting, symposium, panel discussion, science slam or pub quiz – goal-oriented as well as addressee-oriented preparation is needed. Especially when it comes to unavoidable professional and institutional differences, rivalry in the department, disputes over rooms and funding – there is plenty of unlit dynamite. Yet with a few basic conversation strategies and moderation techniques, it’s possible to convince and motivate others, obtain support, act skillfully in events and meetings and defuse conflict situations.
The contents of the workshop are as follows:
- Effective preparation of events and meetings
- Directing and leading events and meetings
- Ways to secure results
- Strategy and tactics in interest-driven contexts
- Recognising the causes and signs of conflicts in good time
- Dealing with controversial opinions, disruptions and conflicts
