Description

A large part of your work is organized as projects. This applies not only to industry or other non-academic fields but of course to science, too. Therefore, project management skills are often required and are considered essential for organizing your own research project.

This workshop is designed for doctoral students with no or only little project management knowledge. You will be introduced to basic tools and terms, including IT tools and a glimpse of new trends like agile project management. Throughout the workshop, you will be actively involved and work on different tasks. As the workshop encourages exchange and communication, please make sure your camera and microphone are working and ready for use.

Content

  • What is a project? And how do you approach it?
  • How to structure tasks and plan project phases
  • How to develop a Gantt diagram
  • How to define aims, identify risks, and stakeholders
  • How to use IT tools for planning and controlling a project and related tasks
