Presentations tips

  • Try to attract the interest of the audience!
  • Try to present (keep eye contact, do not read the notes only, use voice modulation,...).
  • Try to support interaction with the audience (ask questions, discuss,...).
  • Stress and repeat important points. Everybody should be able to say in 1-2 sentences what was the presentation about.
  • If you explain arguments (or provide examples), make sure the audience understands them.
  • Include some own contribution (critique, example,...).
  • If you have transparencies, use a big font (at least 18pt). It should be readable from the last row!
  • Have a look at the evaluation form...
  • Learn from your peers! Try to learn from presentations that you consider (grade as) "good" and avoid mistakes in presentations that you consider (grade as) "bad".
